Club History

Delco Bass Club was founded in 1974 as the Delaware County Bass Ambassadors and is one of the longest continually run bass clubs in the area.
We are not affiliated with any federations or other organizations.
We are a small, friendly competitive club with members of all ages and backgrounds.
We schedule 10 -14 tournaments per year, most within a 45 minute drive, longest is an hour and forty five minute ride.
Club dues are $40.00 dues per year
There is a mandatory $ 25.00 fee per tournament fished. ($10 for the club trophies/ $10 winner/ $5 for lunker).
Dues and tournament fees pay for trophies for individual tournament winners, plus year end top 3 and Lunker trophies.
All trophies are awarded at a Club Banquet at the Towne House Restaurant in Media, Pa. in February.
Standard B.A.S.S. rules are followed, drawings for pairings and launch order are held at the club meeting the month before each tournament.
We count 7 of the scheduled tournaments toward the final year end standings for Angler of the Year, this gives everyone a chance to compete without falling behind because of work or family obligations.

We have openings for both boaters and non-boaters.

Prospective members are welcome to join our meetings.

North East River Classic October 31st and November 1st 2009

Another windy and rainy tournament hits the Delco anglers.

In only his second tournament with the Delco Bass Club, Ed Thayer wins top honors.

After weighing a limit of bass on day one including the day 1 lunker, Ed found himself in third place with a weight of 10.66lbs. Leading day 1 was Louie Croce weighing 11.86lbs of largemouth and in second was Stan Horne who's limit weighed 10.85lbs.

Day 2 started out wet but less windy in North East, MD but the fight for Classic Champ was fierce. Stan Horne weighs in a bag of 10.28lbs for a total of 21.13lbs and claims 3rd place. Stan also takes lunker honors for day 2 weighing a 3.04lb largemouth. Lou Croce weighs in with 9.91lbs and just passes Stan with a total weight of  21.77lbs to take 2nd place. With Louies 2nd place finish he locks up 1st place in the battle for AOY.

Even after having engine problems in the morning Ed Thayer comes in and weighs the largest bag of the tournament. His bag of 12.18lbs and a total weight of 22.84lbs gave him just enough to put him over the top of 2009's AOY Lou Croce to win the 2009 Classic.
